Principal's Message
Dear Bayview Families,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! I hope everyone had an amazing summer. The school year is just around the corner and I would like to share some important information to help you get started. A strong home/school connection is key to helping our students grow both academically and socially. I look forward to building this relationship throughout the school year. I will also continue to communicate regular messages with you through School Messenger email. Please take the time to read the 2022 2023 Bayview Starter Kit to help you get started.
The PowerSchool parent portal will open up for families on Saturday, September 3rd. This will enable you to see your child’s teacher(s) for the 2022-23 school year. Please take a moment to review our suggested school supply list located on our website. During the first week of school you will be receiving a great deal of information that must be attended to within those first few days. Please check your child’s book bag, and check the virtual backpack regularly.
The first day of school for students in Grades K-5 is Tuesday September 6.
Kindergarten Orientation will be held on September 2nd at 11:00 am. Kindergarten Families, please bring your child’s school supplies on that day.
New Student Orientation will be held September 2nd at 10:00 am. This is for any new 1st- 5th grade students who are entering Bayview Elementary for the first time. Please meet us at the front door of Bayview and we will tour the school.
Our annual Back-to-School Night will be held Thursday, October 6 @ 6:30 for grades K-5. In an attempt to allow parents with children in more than one grade-level the opportunity to visit with each teacher, we will schedule two classroom sessions that evening. More information regarding Back to School Night will be shared as we get closer to that date.
Please be sure that all of your contact information is correct in the Parent Portal (email, phone numbers, emergency contacts) as it is most important that we are able to reach our families. In addition, most of our school communication will be disseminated through School Messenger and is generated from PowerSchool (parent portal).
We recommend having your child arrive and dismiss the same way every day in order to develop a safe routine. Please remember that any changes to your child’s regular dismissal will require a written note that is given to the teacher that morning.
Doors open for arrival at 8:40 and the school day is from 8:55 a.m. until 3:05 p.m. Students may arrive at school by 8:40 and enter through their designated door. All teachers will be standing by their classroom doors and other teachers will be available at the doors and in the hallways to help get students to their classrooms. Dismissal will begin at 3:05.
